When the idea for My Friend Breath was born …
It was in April of 2019 that my first grandchild, Macey Blaise, was born. I was beyond thrilled to become a grandmother.
Driving home from seeing Macey in hospital I thought to myself ...
💭"What gift could I possibly give to her that would reflect the deep love and responsibility I felt as her GG (Granny Gillespie)?"💭
I thought about all the things I could buy, but nothing seemed to match the magnitude of how I felt.
💝 I wanted my gift to be more than a token, I wanted it to be something impactful, something that could help Macey on her journey through life. Yes, I was thinking big! 💝
One of my joys in life is writing, so an idea sparked that I could share with her, through a story, something that I discovered later in my life that has had a huge impact on my well-being …Breathwork.
😮💨 Mindful breathing is a skill I wish I could have passed on to my children when they were young. 😮💨
This was a way to share what I had discovered about the magic and power of our breath with the next generation of my family. So, on that day, my dream was born, along with the vision came the story title and the journey began.
The My Friend breath dream has been a mix of challenges and joy, overwhelm and celebration, but above all it’s been a journey of connection. My daughter Kelsey, came onboard to help turn my dream into a reality.
Even though we live in different countries collaborating and navigating the publishing process together, with a shared passion and purpose is the reason that MFB has become a reality. I am forever grateful to Kels for her passion, commitment and contribution to this project.
After three years it is with great pride and excitement that my gift for Macey, and now my other grandchildren, Sibella and Robbie as well, is in the process of being published.
💖 This book truly is a celebration of what is possible when you have a dream. May my dream help to enhance the well-being of not only my grandchildren, but all children around the world. 💖
With love, excitement, and gratitude,
Meg ☺️
