What is mindful breathing?

Mindful breathing is when you choose to take control of your breath by breathing in an intentional way. By teaching children how and when to breathe in a mindful way, we help them to develop the important skill of self-regulation.

By using this resource, you help a child to build a relationship with their breath; get to know it, play with it, and call it by its name, My Friend Breath. It is through establishing this connection with their breath that a child builds the foundation of their mindful breathing practice.
